Biography |
Daharsh grew up in Crete, just outside of Lincoln, Nebraska.
He said he liked growing up in the country and enjoyed
riding motorcycles and riding on sleds that were pulled
behind tractors.
"It's more my lifestyle," he said.
After high school, he started working at his uncle's bar,
which is Heidelbergs Sports Bar, 1601 Normandy Court. He's
worked there for three and a half years now.
The bar scene led him to his modeling career.
"I was approached at a bar by the store manager of
Hollister," he said. "She asked me to come to the store and
be a store model.
"So I figured 'oh what the hell' and started to do that on
Saturdays. I would sit in the front of the store and greet
people."
From there, he started to model for the store's manager
catalog, and that's when he really got noticed, he said.
Ryan Scott, head of marketing for Abercrombie and Fitch,
spotted Daharsh in the catalog and asked him to model for
A&F.
Daharsh jumped at the opportunity, which led him to places
he'd never dreamed.
In March, he traveled to Itacare, Brazil for a weeklong
photo shoot with one of the country's most popular clothing
lines.
"It was paradise," he said. "We were secluded on a resort so
I didn't get to see exactly what Brazilian life was like."
Daharsh, who exercises five to six times a week, said
modeling for A&F was exciting, overwhelming in the beginning
and nerve-racking at times.
He hesitated at first when asked about the female models he
worked with.
After thinking about it, he said, "They're very attractive,
very unique."
He plans to continue modeling for A&F as long as the company
keeps calling him.
In fact, he has a photo shoot in Columbus, Ohio, next week,
he said.
During his spare time, Daharsh enjoys motocross, lifting
weights, watching movies, playing PlayStation and ... making
out, he said with a smiling grin.
When he prepares for a photo shoot, he starts dieting two
weeks beforehand, while watching his carbohydrate and
caloric intake. A week before the shoot, he cuts down on
dairy products, eats less protein and drinks a lot of water.
His diet enables him show off his body's definition, which
A&F prefers for its models. Keeping in shape comes natural
to him, he said.
"I have good genetics. My mom was a professional body
builder," he said.
The six-foot-one, 180-pound model admits he does get
attention from the ladies once in awhile.
"I get my fair share of come ons," he said.
"The best pick-up line was when a girl came to the bar and
dropped off her phone number with a note that said, 'because
you just never know.'"
But Daharsh does know about his future goals. He plans to
earn a degree in business.
"I want to apply what I may get out of this and turn it into
a business," he said. "I want to own a gym and sell
supplements and equipment."
"I'm just gonna ride this wave as long as I can," he said. |
