Robert Carmine (born Robert Schwartzman) is the lead singer
of the rock band Rooney. He has also acted in the films The
Virgin Suicides, directed by his cousin Sofia Coppola, and
The Princess Diaries. He was born on 24 December 1982 in Los
Angeles, California, USA.
He is the son of Jewish American producer Jack Schwartzman
and Italian-American actress Talia Shire. His brother is
Jason Schwartzman, also an actor and former drummer for the
band Phantom Planet. As a member of the Hollywood Coppola
family, one of his cousins is Nicolas Cage, and Francis Ford
Coppola is his uncle. His maternal grandfather is Carmine
Coppola, also the source of his stage name.
