Richard Kristian Gutiérrez born January 21, 1984 in Beverly
Hills, California, is a young Filipino actor. His Mulawin
stint alongside Angel Locsin had started the whole
telefantasy race. Aside from his modeling and acting
careers, Richard is also busy with his hobbies. His interest
in cars bore fruit in his latest venture, Events Management.
Now, this child-star turned matinee idol is busy with “Mars
Ravelo's Captain Barbell,” a superhero-action fantasy series
aired in the Philippines via GMA Network, his mother
station. Captain Barbell became the no. 1 primetime TV show
in the nation.
Richard is the son of a former Philippine cinema Matinee
idol Eddie Gutiérrez and former actress turned talent
manager Annabelle Rama. His sister, Ruffa Gutiérrez, was a
former beauty queen and has not been active in showbiz since
her marriage. His half-brother Ton-ton Gutiérrez is still
active in showbiz and is one of the most favorite leading
men for many known and popular actresses in showbiz. He has
acted alongside Richard. Richard's other half-brother Ramon
Christopher starred with him in Sugo. Richard started as a
child actor alongside his twin brother Raymond. He has
worked in many movies with his famous father, and their
brothers. He laid low in showbiz while trying to finish his
studies. After the rest, he went back into show business,
and was paired with Chynna Ortaleza in different TV and
movie projects. His team-up with Angel Locsin in the hit TV
Series Mulawin catapulted both stars, making them two of the
highest paid actors in the Philippines. Mulawin was followed
by the movie "Let the love begin" that earned 100 million
Pesos in the box office, followed by another blockbuster hit
the following year with "I Will Always Love You." Also, he
is currently doing another major performance in Captain
Barbell as the hero itself. His next tv series will be the
much awaited Lupin. He has recently been dubbed by the media
as "The Super Idol of the Philippine Cinema" due to his
massive appeal and success and even considered as an icon,
which is a rare feat for someone his age.
He was the ex-boyfriend of Anne Curtis, who was the lead
star of Kampanerang Kuba TV series in rival network ABS-CBN.
The two had a video clip that shows torrid kissing scenes
taken from Anne's cellphone that was forwarded through
numerous MMS and e-mails. It was said that her cellular
phone got lost and the next thing they knew was that the
video clip was already in public. He also was rumored to
have dated Angel Locsin and Chynna Ortaleza. Richard is
currently dating Georgina Wilson, a half -English
half-Filipino commercial model who is also the niece of
Gloria Diaz, Miss Universe of 1969. he gave his promise gift
to Angel Locsin, a pair of "diamond earrings" it is said to
be the key for their deep relationship with each other. |
