Biography |
Jared Tristan Padalecki is an American actor. He is perhaps
best known for his roles in the WB series Gilmore Girls and
Supernatural.
Padalecki was born in San Antonio, Texas to Jerry Padalecki
and Sharon Kammer; he has an older brother, Jeff, and a
younger sister, Megan. He started to take acting lessons at
the age of twelve. Then he won the Claim to Fame Contest in
1999 and got to appear on the Teen Choice awards. He
attended James Madison High School and was a candidate 2000
Presidential Scholars Program. After graduating in the 2000
he moved to Los Angeles, California to pursue an acting
career.
Padalecki's acting career was launched when he won Fox TV's
Claim to Fame Contest in 1999 and appeared on Fox's first
Teen Choice Awards. He guest starred in an episode of ER. He
then went on to play Dean Forrester on the
critically-acclaimed WB dramedy Gilmore Girls, and he has
had small roles in movies including A Ring Of Endless Light,
New York Minute, Cheaper by the Dozen, Flight of the
Phoenix, House of Wax, and as Tom in the movie Cry Wolf.
Padalecki is currently starring in Supernatural (2005) as
Sam Winchester, the younger sibling of Dean Winchester
(Jensen Ackles). The second season is stated to premiere
soon. |
