Biography |
Jacob Young is an American actor and pop music singer.
Young has had three major roles on soap operas. He played
Rick Forrester on the CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful
from December 31, 1997 to September 15, 1999. He was
nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding Younger
Actor in a Drama Series in 1999.
Young then played the part of Lucky Spencer on General
Hospital for three years from February 25, 2000 until
February 10, 2003. Young won a Daytime Emmy Award for
Outstanding Younger Actor in 2002.
Young has played the character of Adam "J.R." Chandler, Jr.
on All My Children since October 1, 2003. In 2005, he was
again nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award as Outstanding
Younger Actor.
In 2001, Artemis Records released Young's self-titled CD. In
2002, he was named "Sexiest Soap Star" by People magazine.
In the summer of 2006, Young will join the cast of Disney's
"Beauty and the Beast" on Broadway, in the role of Lumiere.
Even though he does not appear to be a large guy, he is very
muscular and well-toned, having been a wrestler in high
school. In an interview some years ago, he admitted that he
purposely wore a loose-fitting shirt to his GH audition so
he wouldn't look too muscular. He was replacing Jonathan
Jackson, who was quite thin.

A skilled wrestler and while in high school was nationally
ranked in Freestyle and Greco-Roman style wrestling.
Attended Tri-City Christian High School in San Diego.
Has two older sisters and one older brother.
Dated Josie Davis.
Bears an uncanny resemblance to Brad Pitt.
Named "Sexiest Soap Star" by People magazine. [2002]
Raced in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race in Long Beach. He was
in 3rd when he got hit by another driver, and finished with
a time of 19:16.75 [2002]
Won the 2002 Daytime Emmy for "Outstanding Younger Actor"
for his portrayal of Lucky Spencer on "General Hospital". He
had also been nominated in 2000 for his role as Rick
Forrester on "The Bold and the Beautiful".
Before he booked "General Hospital", a friend gave him six
accumulated scenes between Lucky/Elizabeth and Luke/Laura
for research.
He celebrated his 21 birthday in Las Vegas, and won $900 at
the roulette table.
He was in the high school plays "Grease", "Guys & Dolls",
"Our Town" and "Wizard of Oz." |
