Biography |
Felipe Colombo Eguía is an Argentine-Mexican actor and
musician, probably the best known for portraying Manuel
Aguirre in teenage television series Rebelde Way and Lucho
Fierro in Son de Fierro, and as a member of Argentine band
Erreway.
Colombo made his television acting debut in 1991 in the
soupp opera Angeles sin Paraíso as Andrés, alongside Anahí
(Rebelde). Later in 1992, he acted alongside Ludwika Paleta
and Gael Garcia Bernal in a telenovela named El Abuelo y Yo
("My Grandfather and Me"). A Televisa production, "El Abuelo
y Yo" was a hit show. Colombo played "Felipito" in it.
After acting in two other telenovelas, he worked alongside
Angelica Maria, among many others, in Agujetas de Color de
Rosa ("Pink Colored Shoelaces"), which was a successful
telenovela across Latin America and among Hispanic audiences
in the United States. In 1996, Colombo had a role in an
episode of Mujer, casos de la vida real, a show hosted by
Silvia Pinal.
In 1998 Felipe got a role in the Mexican version of
Chiquititas, which was taped in Argentina. After the Mexican
version flopped, Cris Morena decided to give him a role in
the Argentine version where he soon became one of the most
popular actors. Participating at "Chiquititas", Colombo
worked for the first time alongside Camila
Bordonaba,Benjamin Rojas and Luisana Lopilato, who would
later on become part of another one of Colombo's most
important moments as an entertainer. In 2001, Colombo
reprised his character of "Felipe Mejias" for "Chiquititas"'
film version.
During 2002, Colombo acted in a soap opera named Rebelde
Way. Colombo, Bordonaba and Luisana Lopilato worked on
Rebelde Way along with Benjamín Rojas, and the four formed a
pop music group named Erreway. Erreway became famous
internationally and they have garnered gold and platinum
albums in a number of countries. Colombo and Nadine Dwek are
the only members of Chiquititas to have foreign
nationalities as well as Argentine citizenship.
Colombo got lots of attention for playing the lead on the
theatrical version of The Graduate alongside with Nacha
Guevara and later got a starring role in a telenovela named
Doble Vida ("Double Life").
In 2006 he played Kurt Cobain on the play No te preocupes
ojos azules and in 2007 he got a role on the TV comedy Son
de Fierro alongside Camila Bordonaba. The comedy became one
of Argentina's top shows.
In 2008, he got roles in three Argentine films, and one is
accoplished. The first is Carmilla, with María Fernanda
Neil, and the second is Matar a Videla, with Diego Mesaglio.
Both films are currently making in Buenos Aires. In April
2008, the light of the day saw Diego Corsini's film Solos en
la Cuidad, with Colombo and Sabrina Garciarena in lead
roles.
He will also act in telenovela Socios, with Vanesa Gonzáles.
Colombo is the son of Mexican actor Juan Carlos Colombo and
Argentine actress Patricia Eguía, and has a sister. He lives
and works in Buenos Aires. He loves football and his
favourite club is Boca.
He has been in love relationship with Luisana Lopilato for
five years. Two of them told to the press they broke up in
2002, just after getting roles in Rebelde Way. But, two
years later, a video tape from Israel showed they are still
together, making their relationship seven-years-old. But,
they broke up after publishing that video (without their
licence).
After that, Colombo was in relationship with Argentine model
Cecilia Bonelli, but they broke up in 2006. |
