Biography |
Darryl Worley is an American country music artist. He is 6
feet and 6 inches tall (1, 99 metres).
He made his Grand Ole Opry debut in June 2000. He is known
for his No. 1 hits "I Miss My Friend" (2002), "Have You
Forgotten" (2003) and "Awful, Beautiful Life" (2005). Other
hits include "A Good Day to Run," "Summer Wind," "Tennessee
River Run" and "If Something Should Happen."
However, after being inspired by the events of the September
11, 2001 attacks, Worley catapulted into chart success with
the 2003 smash, "Have You Forgotten" which received a
Country Music Association nomination for single of the year.
Each year, Worley hosts a Charity Foundation Event, the
"Tennessee River Run." Proceeds benefit the Darryl Worley
Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that provides
funds to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Le Bonheur
Children's Medical Center and the Cystic Fibrosis
Foundation.
Worley has also recorded a song entitled, "I Found Love At A
K-Mart Store," which the Sears Holdings Corporation uses in
its television and in-store advertising.
Worley was signed to Dreamworks Records in 1999, however, he
is no longer with the label. In 2005, he signed on with
country singer Neal McCoy's new label, 903 Music.
Worley, who worked in the chemical industry prior to
pursuing country music, runs a restaurant in his homestate
with his wife, Beverly. |
