Darin (born Darin Zanyar on June 2, 1987) is a pop singer
from Sweden. Darin participated in the Swedish Idol 2004,
acquiring a fanbase primarily of teenage girls. He lost in
the final to competitor Daniel Lindström. Darin released his
first album in February 2005, with songs by Swedish hit
maker Max Martin and Swedish artist Robyn. Darin lives in
Vällingby outside of Stockholm. He is of Kurdish heritage,
and he speaks Central Kurdish (Soranî). He won the Kurd of
the year award in 2005 presented by Swedish Minister for
Public Health and Social Services Morgan Johansson. |

Finished second in the Swedish version of "Idol" after
Daniel Lindström. In February he released his first album
The Anthem with the hit-single Money For Nothing.
His favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla.
He has an older sister, Rosa which means Pink in Swedish.
