Biography |
Danny Arroyo is the talented and charismatic actor/writer/
producer who loves comic books and video games. He caught
the “acting bug” after watching a Christopher Reeve
interview about playing "Superman", and was inspired to pen
his first screenplay, titled “Gamers”, after reading about
Sylvester Stallone's and Matt Damon’s struggles and success
in getting "Rocky" and “Good Will Hunting” made.
Danny’s grew up in New Jersey, always playing sports. He was
also a voracious reader and film buff, spending hours
watching all types of genres of films. "All About Eve",
"Lawrence of Arabia" & “City Lights” are some of his
favorites. Eventually, Danny’s heart took over and he
decided to leave for Hollywood in pursuit of his passion -
acting.
Danny is a believer in taking chances. While reading
"Backstage West", Danny submitted himself for a low budget
film, against his agent’s advice, booked the job, and a year
later earned an award for "Best Actor" at The California
Independent Film Festival.
Danny’s dream of playing a superhero came true when he got
to play one in a nationally televised Heineken commercial.
While filming a boxing scene in “Lethal Weapon 4”, he
accidentally got punched in the nose by Mel Gibson. It was a
painful, yet memorable moment in his acting career. Another
memorable experience was working alongside one of his
favorite actors, Burt Reynolds, in the film “Hard Time”,
which Burt also directed.
Some of Danny's other film/TV credits include the Spike TV
film “Street Warrior” with Max Martini & Nick Chinlund; the
Warner Brother's feature "Spring Breakdown" with Amy
Poehler, Rachel Dratch & Parker Posey; the Sci-Fi film,
"Death Row", with Jake Busey & Stacy Keach; the modern day
film remake of the Shakespeare play “Richard III”, opposite
David Carradine & Maria Conchita Alonso; the film "Hotel
California" with Tyson Beckford & Erik Palladino; and guest
star roles in CBS’ “Without A Trace”, NBC’s “ER”; Showtime’s
“Resurrection Blvd”; and recurring roles on My Network TV's
"Saints and Sinners", and the General Hospital spinoff
"Night Shift", season one.
Danny’s suspense feature screenplay, "Gamers", about the
phenomenon of compulsive video gaming, is currently in
production with Gamers Productions Inc., and his own
production company, Xkalybr Films.
Danny is a member of The Hollywood Script Analysis Team
(HSAT), where he strengthens his writing skills by doing
script coverage, and helping other writers with screenplay
re-writes. Danny is currently penning his 2nd & 3rd scripts
titled "Orion's Belt" & "Hollywood Limo Nights". Danny is
also a proud member of the Academy of Television Arts &
Sciences and the Screen Actor’s Guild.
Armed with a strong acting resume, Danny is looking forward
to fulfilling his goals and ambitions, on the fast track to
Hollywood success. Danny Arroyo is certainly poised for a
long and successful career. |
