Biography |
Michael Barrett "Barry" Watson (born April 23, 1974 in
Traverse City, Michigan) is an American actor, best known
for his roles of Matt Camden on 7th Heaven and Brian Davis
in What About Brian.
Watson was born in Traverse City, Michigan. His family moved
to Dallas, Texas when he was eight years old, and when he
got older he found work as a model. When he was fifteen, he
moved to Burbank, California, soon finding a job on the soap
opera Days of Our Lives. Afterwards, he moved back to Texas,
and graduated from Richardson High School in Richardson in
1992.
When he turned 19, Watson moved back to Los Angeles, where
he worked parking cars at a House of Blues nightclub, and
later found a minor role on the Aaron Spelling series Malibu
Shores. Spelling's daughter Tori introduced him to his first
wife, Laura Payne-Gabriel.
Watson was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in May 2002,
and went on hiatus from 7th Heaven while he underwent
treatment. As of April 2003, it was reportedly in remission,
and he began appearing on the program again, starting with
the 150th episode. He and his fianceé, Tracy Hutson, had
their first child, Oliver, on May 2, 2005. Barry and Tracy
got married on July 14, 2006.
Watson played Brian Davis on ABC's What about Brian from
April 16, 2006 - March 26, 2007.
Watson starred in Teaching Mrs. Tingle as Luke in 1999.
Watson also appeared as Dave/Daisy (the lead character) in
the comedy Sorority Boys (2002). |

Diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease, and began treatment for
it, May 2002.
April 2003 - Barry's cancer is reported in remission. He
returned for the 150th episode of his TV series, "7th
Heaven" (1996).
Studied acting at the Dallas Young Actors Studio.
Engaged to Tracy Hutson (3 August 2004).
Is an avid basketball fan and often attends Los Angeles
Clippers home games.
He and his fiancée, Tracy Hutson, welcomed their first
