Biography |
Christopher Ashton Kutcher is an American actor and model,
born of Irish, Bohemian and Native American heritage. His
height is 6 ft 2 in. Ashton has an older sister, Tausha and
a fraternal twin, Michael, who is younger by five minutes.
Michael was born with cardiomyopathy, a deadly disease that
eats away at the heart's muscles; he was given about six
hours to live, but survived with an organ transplant.
At one time Kutcher had a job sweeping floors at a General
Mills plant, and donated blood for money. He was kicked out
of a high school play for underaged drinking. He was
arrested at age 18 years for breaking into his school, Clear
Creek Amana High School, with a friend and stealing money
from a vending machine. When his probation prohibited him
from leaving Iowa, Kutcher majored in biochemical
engineering and was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity at
the University of Iowa in 1997, but dropped out to pursue
modeling. Some of his first modeling work was for underwear
ads.
Kutcher began his career as a model and later moved on to
television. He was discovered in a bar in Iowa City, Iowa. A
month before he was discovered, he had planned to move to
Hollywood, but was asked to return to college by his mother.
Kutcher achieved stardom on the Fox television series That
'70s Show and has gone on to star in his own MTV hidden
camera show Punk'd.
Kutcher has starred in the films Dude, Where's My Car?
(2000), Just Married (2003), The Butterfly Effect (2004) and
Guess Who (2005). He also auditioned for the role of Danny
Walker in Pearl Harbor, but lost out to Josh Hartnett.
Kutcher has been linked romantically with a variety of
celebrities, including his Just Married co-star Brittany
Murphy. Despite the significant 15 year age difference, on
September 24, 2005 Kutcher and actress Demi Moore got
married in a lavish ceremony in Los Angeles, California.
In September 2005, a website called www.ashtonhacked.com
surfaced. On it is a series of telephone answering machine
messages that were allegedly stolen from Kutcher's own
machine by two men who continually dialed into it until they
correctly guessed his passcode. These included a series of
irate messages from Bruce Willis expressing rage at Kutcher
for not showing up for a planned appointment. It turned out
to have been an elaborate prank arranged by a man named John
Hargrave (The King of Dot Comedy) of the World's Best Comedy
Site, zug.com. There are disputed claims that Kutcher
himself was responsible for the prank. |
