Biography |
Alain is currently in line to become one of the greatest
swimmers South Africa, and
even the world, has ever seen. He is very young by
professional swimming standards (he is only 22 years old
whilst a swimmer only peaks at around 27 years of age), he
is already mixing it with the more senior swimmers and is
less than 2 seconds of world record breaking times. Take
into consideration that he is still perfecting his
technique, and haven’t even explored half of his potential,
and you can see why we have a world class swimmer in the
making.
Alain started swimming professionally in 2003, and suffered
a major setback when he sustained a potential career ending
shoulder injury. He fought back and ended up swimming better
times than he did prior to the injury.
For now he lives and trains in South Africa with Ryk
Neethling as his training partner. He competes in all local,
national events, as well as the European Championships,
World Championships and the FINA World Tour.
He has joined a new coach, and training partner, to help him
perfect his technique
and shave a few precious seconds of his time. |
